I have to make a confession. I should loose weight for a better health. Omg am I prepared to tell my weight??? I had years of indulging myself. I am right now, 01/01/2018 194 lbs and not happy about it! But the weight is not my full issue. I can life with having a few pounds on my hips. I like myself curvy and this is who I am. I can’t imagine and I do not want to become a size 0. This would not be me!!! But I understand the influence of a few pounds and being active in life. I enjoy my life and want to enjoy it for many more decades with my family. So let’s start in a changed life.
In the past I tried a lot of different diets: Paleo, Dukan Diet, whole 30 and probably my all time runner: Weight Watchers. I own over 45 diet books with recommendation from not eating carbs, eating carbs separate from protein to not eating any fat… I understand enough that a diet promising me to loose 10 lbs in 5 days is nothing for me. And I am not the person who wants to weigh food and count every calorie. I need something more simple. Actually weight watchers always was the easiest program to follow and with the new weight watchers freestyle I see a new chance to make it even easier for me. But more about this later.
I also see for me a big help in success stories. Instagram has so many inspiring stories. The one which impressed my most is the story of fatgirlfedup. Her weight loss after her 2016 New Years resolution is just unbelievable! I admire you!
I also found some inspiring words in books I read. One book I bought last year changed a bit my few in food and might be a big help for me – Joyous Health from Joy McCarty.

It talks about a lifestyle change, eating joyful and clean. This is what I want! Many of you are probably in the same situation and are lost between advertising promises of diet pills or ideas of diet books with counting calories. Is this something for life? Something you want to do till you die? Not me! I need to listen to my gut feeling and change behaviors vs. counting food. ComfyFoody was born because I love food. Simple comfort food and also once in a while the extravaganza dinner. I want to bring the healthy aspect into play. How can it be healthy comfort food?
In my next posts I will start more and more introducing my health challenge. I will talk about hopefully positive changes and my journey to a healthy comfort foodie. I also will start including information how to i corporate my recipes into weight watchers.
Lastly to make this count and have enough witnesses to stay on track I want to share my 2018 goals with all of you:
- Stay on track with my yoga at home ever second day
- Start attending a professional yoga class
- Get 50k steps in a week
- Loose 20 lbs
- Run a 5k in August
- Start healthy meal prepping
Feel free to make your goals countable as well and share in the comments! We all can do this together!
